James T. Lane to take over as Billy Flynn in Broadway’s ‘Chicago’

"Chicago" alum James T. Lane will rejoin the company in the role of Billy Flynn beginning Jan. 16. He replaces current cast member Ryan Silverman. Lane has appeared in the ensemble of "Chicago" over multiple previous stints.

“Chicago” alum James T. Lane will rejoin the company in the role of Billy Flynn beginning Jan. 16. He replaces current cast member Ryan Silverman.

Lane has appeared in the ensemble of “Chicago” over multiple previous stints. He has also been featured on the Main Stem in “Kiss Me, Kate,” “King Kong the Musical,” “The Scottsboro Boys” and “A Chorus Line.”

Also joining the company at the Ambassador Theatre on Jan. 16 for a limited time is the previously announced Jinkx Monsoon as Matron “Mama” Morton.

The current cast of “Chicago” also features Charlotte d’Amboise as Roxie Hart, Lana Gordon as Velma Kelly, Jennifer Fouché as Matron “Mama” Morton, Evan Harrington as Amos Hart and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

They are joined by David Bushman, Christine Cornish, Jennifer Dunne, Jessica Ernest, Jeff Gorti, Arian Keddell, Mary Claire King, Marty Lawson, Joseph London, Barrett Martin, Sharon Moore, Drew Nellessen, Celina Nightengale, Brian O’Brien, Denny Paschall, Emma Pittman, Jermaine R. Rembert and Michael Scirrotto.

“Chicago” celebrated its 26th anniversary on Broadway on Nov. 14. The musical is produced by Barry and Fran Weissler. Casting is by Stewart/Whitley.
