Zachary Noah Piser, Eddy Lee and more announced for Broadway’s ‘KPOP’

“KPOP” has completed its cast. The new Broadway musical is set to begin previews at Circle in the Square Theatre on Oct. 13 ahead of a Nov. 20 opening night.

Newly announced company members include recent “Dear Evan Hansen” star Zachary Noah Piser and “Hamilton” veteran Eddy Lee, along with Julia Abueva, Major Curda, Jinwoo Jung, Jiho Kang, Amy Keum, James Kho, Marina Kondo, Joshua Lee, Jully Lee, Lina Rose Lee, Timothy H. Lee, Abraham Lim, Kate Mina Lin, Aubie Merrylees, Patrick Park and John Yi. They join the previously announced Luna, BoHyung, Min and Kevin Woo.

KPOP is a multimedia experience that explores the Korean pop music industry. The show features a book by Jason Kim, with music and lyrics by Helen Park and Max Vernon and direction by Teddy Bergman. The rest of the creative team includes Jennifer Weber (choreography), Sujin Kim-Ramsey (music direction), Gabriel Hainer Evansohn (scenic design), Clint Ramos and Sophia Choi (costume design), Jiyoun Chang (lighting design), Peter Fitzgerald and Andrew Keister (sound design), Peter Nigrini (projection design), Mia M. Neal (hair and wig design) and Joe Dulude II and Suki Tsujimoto (makeup design). Casting is by Tara Rubin Casting; Cherie B. Tay is the production stage manager.

Originally premiering as an immersive production, “KPOP” was conceived by Kim and Woodshed Collective. The musical debuted off-Broadway with Ars Nova at A.R.T/New York Theatres in 2017.

Tim Forbes and Joey Parnes are the musical’s lead producers.
