The original cast of the Broadway revival of “Into the Woods,” now running at the St. James Theatre, has extended their run through Sept. 4.

The company is led by Sara Bareilles as The Baker’s Wife, Brian d’Arcy James as the Baker and Patina Miller as the Witch.

Additionally, Bareilles and the musical’s producers have announced a partnership with Harriet Tubman Effect.

Through HTE Tix, a new initiative developed by Harriet Tubman Effect, 200 free orchestra seats will be made available for the evening performances on Aug. 26 and 27, as well as Sept. 2 and 3.

The initiative provides young people in underserved communities with the opportunity to experience a Broadway show.

“I believe the magic of the theater is transformative,” said Bareilles. “It could and should belong to every human being. It is my hope that this small gesture will invite new members of our beloved communities to experience this very sacred place.

“I’m grateful to our producers for their open hearts, and to Nicole Johnson and the Harriet Tubman Effect who are going to help bring the wonder of the theater to new audience members.”

Rounding out the principal cast of “Into the Woods” is Phillipa Soo as Cinderella, Gavin Creel as the Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince, Joshua Henry as Rapunzel’s Prince, Julia Lester as Little Red Riding Hood, Nancy Opel as Cinderella’s Stepmother, Cole Thompson as Jack and Kennedy Kanagawa as Milky White.

“Into the Woods” is produced on Broadway by Jujamcyn Theaters, Jordan Roth, New York City Center, Hunter Arnold, Nicole Eisenberg, Michael Cassel Group, Jessica R. Jenen, Daryl Roth, ShowTown Productions and Armstrong, Gold & Ross. Nicole Kastrinos serves as executive producer.

Casting updates beyond Sept. 4 are expected shortly. It was previously announced that the production would extend its Broadway run through Oct. 16.
