Gene Weygandt will assume the role of ‘Claude & others’ in “Come From Away” on Broadway starting March 22, the production announced Tuesday.
Weygandt joins the Broadway company after having played the role in the Australian production of the musical. He takes over from original cast member Joel Hatch, who will depart the production March 20.
Weygandt has previously appeared on Broadway in “Wicked” and “Big.”
“Come From Away” opened at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on March 12, 2017 and restarted performances on Sept. 21, 2021, after the theatrical shutdown. The production recently marked its fifth anniversary on Broadway by placing tickets on sale through the end of 2022.
