Alex Brightman will return to the title role in “Beetlejuice” this spring.

Brightman originated the role of Beetlejuice, which he played during the musical’s first Broadway run from April 2019 through March 2020. He received a Tony Award nomination for his performance.

The remainder of the cast will be announced later this week.

“Beetlejuice” will begin performances at the Marquis Theatre on April 8. The musical returns to Broadway after its open-ended run at the Winter Garden Theatre was cut short by the invocation of a stop clause. “The Music Man” has since moved into the Winter Garden Theatre.

The producers of “Beetlejuice,” Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures and Langley Park Productions, looked to bring the musical to a new theater after posting the closing notice.

“Beetlejuice” is directed by Alex Timbers and features an original score by Eddie Perfect, a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King, music supervision, orchestrations and incidental music by Kris Kukul and choreography by Connor Gallagher.
