‘The Kite Runner’ to play Broadway’s Hayes Theater this summer

A stage adaptation of “The Kite Runner” will play the Hayes Theater this summer.  The play with music, based on the 2003 book by Khaled Hosseini, comes to Broadway after playing the West End in 2016 and 2017 and a world premiere at San Jose Repertory Theatre in 2009.

A stage adaptation of “The Kite Runner” will play the Hayes Theater this summer.

The play with music, based on the 2003 book by Khaled Hosseini, comes to Broadway after playing the West End in 2016 and 2017 and a world premiere at San Jose Repertory Theatre in 2009. “The Kite Runner” will play the Hayes Theater from July 6 through Oct. 30.

Opening night is scheduled for July 21. Casting will be announced at a later date.

“The Kite Runner” is directed by Giles Croft and adapted by Matthew Spangler. Humaira Ghilzai is serving as the show’s cultural consultant.

Though the show is playing the Hayes Theater, owned by Second Stage Theater, it is not a Second Stage production. The play is produced by  Victoria Lang,  Ryan Bogner and Tracey McFarland of Broadway & Beyond Theatricals. Daryl Roth is the executive producer.
