Apple Original Films will distribute the filmed production of “Come From Away,” the studio announced Friday.
The production posted signs outside the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, home to the Broadway show, this week that listed filming dates from April 27 to May 5. The film, directed by Christopher Ashley, will feature cast members from the Broadway production and employ more than 200 Broadway workers, including cast, crew and creative teams.
Casting details for the film have not yet been announced. RadicalMedia, which shot the live captures of “Hamilton” and “David Byrne’s American Utopia,” is filming the production.
eOne, a subsidiary of toy and entertainment company Hasbro, is producing the live capture, alongside Irene Sankoff and David Hein, the writers of the musical’s book and score, who will also serve as executive producers. RadicalMedia’s Jon Kamen, Dave Sirulnick and Meredith Bennett are also serving as executive producers. Junkyard Dog Productions, producers of the stage production, are also serving as producers.
Previous Apple Original Films include “Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry” and “Bruce Springsteen’s Letter to You.”
