The League of Professional Theatre Women is offering its members access to its emergency loan fund as theaters across the country close due to coronavirus.

The League will be allocating its $5,000 Waldman Emergency Fund, donated by long-time member Honey Waldman, which was established to help members in emergency situations. The nonprofit group, created to support gender parity in professional theater, has more than 500 members across all categories of the industry, according to its site.

“The loan is intended for true emergencies. A committee will review requests for loans which will be evaluated on an individual basis. All requests are confidential and all loans are discreet,” the organization said in a press release.

The loans are limited to $500 each, according to a spokesperson.
