Jesse Williams to make Broadway debut in ‘Take Me Out’

Jesse Williams, one of the star’s of “Grey’s Anatomy,” will make his Broadway debut in “Take Me Out” next spring. The play, produced by Second Stage Theater and directed by Scott Ellis, is scheduled to begin previews at the Helen Hayes Theater on April 2, 2020, with an opening night on April 23.

Jesse Williams, one of the star’s of “Grey’s Anatomy,” will make his Broadway debut in “Take Me Out” next spring.

The play, produced by Second Stage Theater and directed by Scott Ellis, is scheduled to begin previews at the Helen Hayes Theater on April 2, 2020, with an opening night on April 23.

Williams will play lead Darren Lemming, the star of a baseball team who deals with the repercussions of coming out as a gay man of color, in the revival of Richard Greenberg’s play.

In addition to his role on “Grey’s Anatomy,” Williams has appeared in films including “The Butler” and “The Cabin in the Woods” and as a producer on the docuseries “America Divided.”
