Calendar year 2024 ended on a high for Broadway, with box office records broken across several shows during week 32 of the 2024-2025 season. Collectively, the 33 productions running during the week ending Dec. 29 grossed $55,822,374, a 25.5% increase from the week prior when one additional show was running. Attendance saw a 1.1% increase from the week ending Dec. 22, with 306,180 Main Stem admissions counted. Available seats in theaters were filled to 97.1% capacity, up 4.4% from the previous week.
This week encompassed Christmas, a time of year that historically proves a boon for the industry — and these totals are no exception. This week’s $55.8 million ducats eclipses Dec. 29, 2019’s holiday week gross of $55,765,408 and marks Broadway’s second-highest grossing week on record, landing within striking distance of the highest-grossing week, the week ending Dec. 30, 2018 ($57,807,272).
