Lear deBessonet recently gave a TED talk explaining the genesis of her Arts for EveryBody initiative. The program, working under the idea that the arts can lead to healthier and happier communities, will premiere unique, large-scale art projects/productions in 18 American cities on July 27, all of which respond to the prompt “no place like home.”

DeBessonet received a 2023 Tony Award nomination for directing the revival of “Into the Woods.” She is slated to direct the upcoming Main Stem revival of “Once Upon a Mattress.” DeBessonet is the founder and co-artistic director of Arts for EveryBody; a list of participating cities can be found here.
