Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin appeared on the Kelly Clarkson Show to discuss where they were when they found out they were Tony Award-nominated for their star turns in the revival of “Cabaret,” as well as their thoughts on the New York theater community.
Featuring a Tony-winning score by John Kander and Fred Ebb and a book by Joe Masteroff based on John Van Druten’s play “I Am A Camera” and stories by Christopher Isherwood, “Cabaret” follows the performers and clientele of the escapist Kit Kat Club in 1930s Germany. Rebecca Frecknell directs the revival, which began previews on April 1 and opened on April 21 at the August Wilson Theatre. The production is nominated for nine 2024 Tony Awards, including a nod for Best Musical Revival.
