Six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” discussing her take on the vision behind the new revival of “Gypsy” as well as her initial motivation for taking on the role of Rose.
Featuring a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, “Gypsy” began previews on Nov. 21, 2024 and opened on Dec. 19 at the Majestic Theatre.
Directed by George C. Wolfe, choreographed by Camille A. Brown and music-directed by Andy Einhorn, the cast of “Gypsy” also includes Danny Burstein as Herbie, Joy Woods as Louise and Jordan Tyson as June.
