Featuring a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, “Gypsy” is suggested by the memoirs of popular burlesque performer Gypsy Rose Lee. Set in the 1920s and 1930s, the musical follows Rose’s desperation to make her two children, June and Louise, stars of the vaudeville circuit. Louise, however, finds herself in the world of burlesque.
“Gypsy” is being produced by Tom Kirdahy, Mara Isaacs, Kevin Ryan, Diane Scott Carter, Peter May and Thomas M. Neff.
