The 76th Annual Tony Awards will take place on June 11, 2023. The ceremony will be held at the uptown New York City venue United Palace, marking the first time the awards have been presented at this theater.
Located in Washington Heights, the Palace is the fourth-largest performance venue in Manhattan with a capacity of 3,400 seats. (In recent seasons, the Tony Awards ceremony has been held at the 6,015-seat Radio City Music Hall or the 2,894-seat Beacon Theatre.) The United Palace regularly hosts concerts, film premieres and more; notably, it’s the home to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s movie series “Sundays at the Palace.” The Tonys will be broadcast live from the United Palace on CBS and will also stream live on Paramount+. The awards will celebrate the 2022-2023 Broadway season.
The Tony Awards eligibility cutoff for the season is April 27, 2023. Nominations will be announced May 2, 2023.
“We are excited to bring the Tony Awards to the historic United Palace for the first time. As we celebrate the best of this Broadway season and 76 years of the Tony Awards, we look forward to ushering in a new golden age for the show from this majestic, golden age theater,” said Heather Hitchens, president and CEO of the American Theatre Wing and Charlotte St. Martin, president of The Broadway League in a statement.
The Tony Awards are produced in collaboration with Tony Award Productions, a joint venture of The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, and White Cherry Entertainment. Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss are executive producers for White Cherry Entertainment. Weiss will serve as director.
