‘Tommy’ soars in closing week; ‘Oh, Mary!’ breaks box office record

For the week ending July 21, the 27 currently running productions grossed $31,423,899.

Broadway’s box office made gains on all fronts during the ninth week of the 2024-2025 season. The 27 shows playing during the week ending July 21 collectively grossed $31,423,899, a 5.3% increase from the week prior (in which one fewer show was playing). Attendance also increased from the week ending July 14, with Main Stem admissions rising 2.9% to a total of 249,701. Available seats in theaters were filled to 94.7% capacity, up 1.3 percentage points from the previous week.

In relation to the comparable week in the 2023-2024 season, the aforementioned figures come in just under the totals for the week ending July 23, 2023. This week’s $31.4 million ducats is a mere 0.3% below the gross for this week last season, while the 250,000 admissions is 2.9% less. Capacity, however, is 5.6 percentage points higher.
