“Superhero,” a new musical with music and lyrics by Tom Kitt, will have its world premiere in winter 2019 at Second Stage Theater’s Off Broadway home.
The musical, which is written by John Logan and directed by Jason Moore, will star Kate Baldwin, Bryce Pinkham and Kyle McArthur. Second Stage will also put on the world premiere of “Days of Rage,” a play written by Steven Levenson and directed by Trip Cullman, at its Tony Kiser Theater.
“Days of Rage” will begin in October 2018.
In summer of 2019, Second Stage will put on “Dying City” written by Christopher Shinn and directed by Lila Neugebauer.
A fourth Off Broadway production will be announced.
On Broadway, Second Stage will put on the previously announced productions of “Straight White Men,” with previews beginning June 29 at the Helen Hayes Theater on Broadway. Harvey Fierstein’s “Torch Song” will play the Helen Hayes Theater in the fall.
