‘The Wiz’ has highest-grossing week, ‘Illinoise’ ends strong while overall box office remains steady

For the week ending Aug. 11, the 26 currently running productions grossed $30,768,450.

Broadway’s box office remained steady during week 12 of the 2024-2025 season. Collective gross for 26 productions came to $30,768,450, representing a mere 0.8% increase from the previous week. Attendance increased slightly more from the week ending Aug. 4, up 1.4% to 242,572 total admissions. Capacity remained nearly the same, with 94.3% of available seats being filled, a decrease of 0.4 percentage points.

Compared to the same week in 2023-2024, gross and attendance are significantly higher this week, when one additional show was playing. This week’s $30.8 gross total is an 11.3% increase from the week ending Aug. 13, 2023, while the 243,000 admissions represent a bump of 10.8%. Capacity is up 4.6 percentage points.
