The new musical ‘The Outsiders’ has announced its full cast. The previously reported production will begin previews on March 16, 2024, with opening night set for April 11 at Broadway’s Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.
Dan Berry, in his debut on the Main Stem, completes the principal cast in the role of Paul Holden. Rounding out the company are the newly announced Jordan Chin, Milena J. Comeau, Barton Cowperthwaite, Tilly Evans-Krueger, Henry Gendron, RJ Higton, Wonza Johnson, Sean Harrison Jones, Maggie Kuntz, Renni Anthony Magee, SarahGrace Mariani, Melody Rose, Josh Strobl, Victor Carrillo Tracey and Trevor Wayne.
The cast joins the previously announced Brody Grant in the role of Ponyboy Curtis, Sky Lakota-Lynch as Johnny Cade, Joshua Boone as Dallas Winston, Brent Comer as Darrel Curtis, Jason Schmidt as Sodapop Curtis, Emma Pittman as Cherry Valance, Daryl Tofa as Two-Bit Mathews and Kevin William Paul as Bob Sheldon. Casting is by Tara Rubin Casting/Xavier Rubiano.
Based on both S.E. Hinton’s 1967 novel and Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film of the same name, the musical features a score by Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance of Jamestown Revival and Justin Levine. Adam Rapp with Justin Levine share book-writing duties on the musical directed by Dayna Taymor and choreographed by Rick Kuperman and Jeff Kuperman.
The design team for “The Outsiders” includes scenic design by AMP featuring Tatiana Kahvegian, costume design by Sarafina Bush, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, sound design by Cody Spencer, projection design by Hana Kim and special effects design by Jeremy Chernick and Lillis Meeh. Matt Hinkley will serve as music director, while Levine will provide music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations. 321 Theatrical Management will serve as general manager.
“The Outsiders” is being produced by the Araca Group, American Zoetrope, Olympus Theatricals, Sue Gilad & Larry Rogowsky and Angelina Jolie.
