“The Music Man” will play the Winter Garden Theatre next season, the production confirmed Monday.
The production, directed by Jerry Zaks and starring Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster, had been long-rumored to take over the theater after a stop clause was enforced against its current occupant “Beetlejuice.” “Beetlejuice” is scheduled to exit the theater on June 6, 2020.
Produced by Scott Rudin, Barry Diller and David Geffen, “The Music Man” is set to begin previews on Sept.9, with an opening night on Oct. 15.
