“All In: Comedy About Love” will feature musical performances from the Bengsons. The singer-songwriting duo, made up of married couple Abigail and Shaun Bengson, will appear in the Simon Rich play, which, as previously announced, will begin performances on Dec. 11 for a limited run through Feb. 16, 2025 at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre. Alex Timbers will direct.

The Bengsons will perform songs by the musical group Magnetic Fields, including tunes from the album “69 Love Songs,” all of which are composed by Stephin Merritt.

The Bengsons have performed their music in “The Keep Going Song” at LCT3, “Hundred Days” at New York Theatre Workshop and “Sovereignty Hymns” at La Jolla Playhouse. The pair received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Music for the Ars Nova production of “The Lucky Ones.”

The indie pop group Magnetic Fields formed in the early 1990s and has since released two dozen studio albums, including the aforementioned “69 Love Songs,” which includes 69 love songs.

“‘69 Love Songs’ by the Magnetic Fields directly inspired me to write the love stories that became ‘All In,’ Rich explained in a statement. “Stephin Merritt is my favorite living songwriter and he’s probably better than all the dead ones I like too.”

“All In” encompasses a series of comedic vignettes examining love, dating, marriage and heartbreak, all of which are adapted from previously published short stories by Rich. The play’s opening company will include John Mulaney, Fred Armisen and Richard Kind, all of whom will remain with the production through Jan. 12, 2025. Renée Elise Goldsberry will appear from Dec. 11 through Dec. 30; Chloe Fineman will succeed her from Jan. 2, 2025 through Jan. 12. Additional replacement actors will be announced.

“All In” is being produced by Seaview and Lorne Michaels with New Yorker Studios and Broadway Video (Micah Frank and Caroline Maroney).
