Broadway casting office Tara Rubin Casting has revealed a new name and leadership team. The organization, founded by Tara Rubin, will now be known as the TRC Company. Claire Burke, Kevin Metzger-Timson, Xavier Rubiano and Peter Van Dam, longtime casting directors with the company, are now owners and equal partners.

Burke, Metzger-Timson, Rubiano and Van Dam will continue their duties as TRC Company casting directors for Broadway, Off-Broadway and touring productions, as well as film and television. The quartet will also take on daily management, operations and business dealings for the company. Rubin will remain with the company as a casting director and advisor.

“When I started my company in 2001, I hoped to create an environment where actors felt valued, respected and were treated with courtesy,” Rubin said in a statement. “As we grew, I was fortunate to collaborate with talented people who shared these values. It’s been an honor to highlight the work of Claire, Kevin, Xavier and Peter over the past few years and I’m proud to designate them to lead the company into our next chapter. As a team, they embody the qualities of exceptional casting directors: they’re attentive listeners, insightful interpreters of texts and possess extensive experience — they represent the best of the next generation of Broadway professionals.”

The new partners will lead a team that also includes casting director Merri Sugarman, who joined the TRC Company in 2006, as well as casting associates Louis DiPaolo, Spencer Gualdoni, Olivia Paige West and Frankie Ramirez.

“We are honored and excited to lead the next chapter of this company, which has been run with unwavering excellence by our mentor and friend Tara Rubin,” said Burke, Metzger-Timson, Rubiano and Van Dam in a joint statement. “Louis DiPaolo, Spencer Gualdoni, Olivia Paige West and Frankie Ramirez are dedicated, talented casting associates and we are so happy to have them continue with us at the TRC Company. Together, along with Tara and our esteemed colleague Merri Sugarman, we are excited to collaborate with new and established artists in bringing their vision to life.”

Following a 15-year tenure at Johnson-Liff Casting, Rubin founded the TRC Company, which, for nearly 25 years, has served as the casting office for over 60 productions on Broadway alone, including “The Phantom of the Opera,” “The Producers,” “Mamma Mia!,” “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” “Jersey Boys,” “Billy Elliot,” two revivals of “Les Misérables,” “Aladdin,” “School of Rock,” “Dear Evan Hansen, “The Band’s Visit,” “SIX,” “Water for Elephants” and 2024 Best Musical Tony Award winner “The Outsiders.” In 2025, the TRC Company will cast upcoming Broadway productions of “Dead Outlaw,” “BOOP! The Musical,” “Old Friends” and “Buena Vista Social Club.”
