Casting is finalized for the new Broadway staging of “Sunset Boulevard.” The previously announced production, directed by Jamie Lloyd, will begin previews on Sept. 28 and open on Oct. 20 at the St. James Theatre. Nicole Scherzinger will star as Norma Desmond.
Among the newly announced company members is Caroline Bowman, who will serve as the standby for the role of Norma Desmond, sharing coverage duties with the previously announced once-weekly alternate Mandy Gonzalez. Also new to the cast are Shavey Brown as Mr. DeMille/Finance Man/Stan, Diego Andres Rodriguez as Artie, Olivia Lacie Andrews as Nancy, Brandon Mel Borkowsky as John, Hannah Yun Chamberlain as Young Norma, Cydney Clark as Joanna/Guard, Raúl Contreras as Finance Man/Frank, Tyler Davis as Sheldrake, E.J. Hamilton as Lisa, Sydney Jones as Dorothy, Emma Lloyd as Mary/Heather, Pierre Marais as Sammy, Shayna McPherson as Camera Operator/Katherine, Jimin Moon as Morino/Hog Eye, Justice Moore as Jean and Drew Redington as Myron/Jones/Camera Operator, with swings Giuseppe Bausilio, Kristina Garvida Doucette, Brandon LaVar, Maggie Likcani, Abby Matsusaka and Rixey Terry.
In addition to Scherzinger, previously announced principals include Tom Francis as Joe Gillis, Grace Hodgett-Young as Betty Schaefer and David Thaxton as Max Von Mayerling. Casting is by Jim Carnahan and Jason Thinger.
“Sunset Boulevard” is being produced on Broadway by the Jamie Lloyd Company, Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals and Gavin Kalin Productions, by arrangement with the Really Useful Group Ltd.
