Students from 55 regional awards programs will participate in the 2025 Jimmy Awards

The annual ceremony celebrating high school theater will take place in June at the Minskoff Theatre.

The Jimmy Awards, known formally as the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, has revealed a record-high number of participating regional awards programs. The 16th annual Jimmy Awards, which honors nationwide high school-level talent, will feature students representing 55 programs from 29 states (including Washington, D.C.). The previously announced 2025 ceremony will take place on June 23 at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre.

Each program, hosted by a performing arts center or organization, will select two local high school students as winners to send to New York City to participate in the Jimmy Awards’ training and rehearsals with Broadway professionals. The week-and-a-half-long intensive culminates with the Jimmy Awards ceremony, where two students will be awarded Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance by an Actress.

Participating students will hail from regional awards programs representing the following cities: Tempe and Tucson, Arizona; Fayetteville and Little Rock, Arkansas; La Mirada, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose, California; Denver, Colorado; New Haven, Connecticut; Washington, D.C.; Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Boise, Idaho; Chicago, Illinois; Des Moines, Iowa; Louisville, Kentucky; Boston, Massachusetts; East Lansing, Michigan; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Kansas City and St. Louis, Missouri; Omaha, Nebraska; Las Vegas, Nevada; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Buffalo, New York, Rochester and Schenectady, New York; Charlotte and Durham, North Carolina; Cleveland, Columbus and Dayton, Ohio; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma; Midland, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Providence, Rhode Island; Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee; Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, Texas; Logan, Utah; and Appleton and Madison, Wisconsin.

The Jimmy Awards is a program of the Broadway League, the national trade association for the theater industry. The Jimmys are presented by the philanthropic arm of the League, the  Broadway League Foundation. Rachel Reiner, League director of audience engagement, serves as executive director of the awards.
