‘Stereophonic’ to perform on 2024 Tony Awards

Presenters have also been announced for the ceremony, set to take place at Lincoln Center on June 16.

The Tony Awards has revealed that Best Play nominee “Stereophonic” has been added to the list of shows slated to offer a performance on the 2024 telecast. David Adjmi’s drama with music is nominated for 13 Tonys, a record for a play. The 77th annual Tonys ceremony is set to take place at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater on June 16. The previously announced event will air live on CBS and Paramount+ beginning at 8 p.m. ET. 

The Tonys has also announced a slate of presenters for the event. They will include Tony winners Cynthia Erivo, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Sean Hayes, Jennifer Hudson, Idina Menzel, Ben Platt,  Pete Townshend, Tamara Tunie, Adrienne Warren and Jeffrey Wright.

Three 2024 nominees will also present: Taraji P. Henson and Angelina Jolie, nominated for producing the Best Play nominee “Jaja’s African Hair Braiding” and Best Musical nominee “The Outsiders,” respectively, as well as Jim Parsons, nominated for his featured turn in Best Play nominee “Mother Play.”

They will be joined by past nominees Josh Gad, Ashley Park, Wendell Pierce, Andrew Rannells and Patrick Wilson.

Other presenters will include Nate Burleson, Nick Jonas, Anthony Ramos, Solomon Thomas and Taylor Tomlinson.

Utkarsh Ambudkar and Julianne Hough, previously announced to host the special pre-show “Tony Awards: Act One,” will also serve as presenters during the telecast.

In addition to the performance from “Stereophonic,” the 2024 Tonys will feature numbers from the previously announced “Cabaret,” “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Illinoise,” “Merrily We Roll Along,” “Suffs,” “The Outsiders,” “The Who’s Tommy” and “Water for Elephants.”

The Tony Awards are presented by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.
