“Stereophonic” has announced an additional extension. The 2024 Best Play Tony Award nominee will now run through Jan. 5, 2025. Written by David Adjmi and featuring music by Will Butler, “Stereophonic” was originally slated to play a limited run through July 7, and was initially extended through Aug. 18.

Daniel Aukin directs the play, which began previews on April 2 and opened on April 19 at the John Golden Theatre. It is currently nominated for thirteen 2024 Tony Awards, more than any other straight play in history.

Set in a 1970s recording studio, “Stereophonic” offers an intimate look at the artistic process as a band struggles to record their sophomore album.

“Stereophonic” is produced by Sue Wagner, John Johnson, Seaview, Sonia Friedman Productions, Linden Productions and Ashley Melone & Nick Mills.
