Shoshana Bean schedules final performance in Broadway’s ‘Hell’s Kitchen’

The actor earned a Tony Award nomination for her performance in the musical.

Actor Shoshana Bean announced on her personal Instagram that she will be leaving “Hell’s Kitchen.” Bean plays Jersey, the mother of the musical’s protagonist, Ali. Bean, who garnered a Tony Award nomination for her turn in the Alicia Keys musical, will play her final performance on Dec. 1.

A replacement for Jersey has not yet been announced.

Bean previously appeared on Broadway in “Mr. Saturday Night,” for which she earned her first Tony nomination, as well as “Kristin Chenoweth: For the Girls,” “Waitress,” “Wicked” and “Hairspray.”

“Hell’s Kitchen” began previews at the Shubert Theatre on March 28 ahead of an official opening night of April 20. The musical earned 13 Tony nominations, including one for Best Musical. It tells the story of 17-year-old Ali, who is trying to find her place in a sprawling and enticing New York City.

“Hell’s Kitchen” is produced on Broadway by AKW Productions.
