The Road Company has announced the promotion of longtime staff member Shawn Willett to chief operating officer. The Road Company acts as the liaison between producers of national tours and the venues in which they play; Willett joined the agency in 2005.

Founded in 1997 by Brett Sirota and Stephen Lindsay, the Road Company is currently represented across North America with touring productions of “Wicked,” “Moulin Rouge!,” “Ain’t Too Proud,” “Jagged Little Pill,” “Beetlejuice” and others.

Willett takes on the newly created COO position after serving as vice president of operations since 2010. The new role comes with additional management responsibilities. Willett will also continue to oversee negotiations of contracts for the booking of all tours on the Road Company’s roster.

“In the nearly two decades Willett has been at the Road Company, he’s grown to be a pillar of the company,” said Sirota in a statement. “We felt creating this new role would loudly proclaim to the entire community that Willett unequivocally speaks on our behalf and is empowered to be a final voice on the many negotiations he handles.”

“The promotion is long overdue,” Lindsay added. “We’re confident he’ll continue to be one of the Road Company’s strongest assets moving forward.”
