Additional cast changes have been announced as “Into the Woods” enters its final weeks on Broadway.
Sebastian Arcelus will rejoin the company as the Baker for the final week of performances beginning Jan. 3, 2023. He will succeed current cast member Brian d’Arcy James.
Current Cinderella understudy Diane Phelan will assume the role full time beginning Dec. 26. She replaces Denée Benton, who originated as Cinderella earlier this year in the New York City Center Encores! production and later joined the Broadway cast on Nov. 21.
Though the Broadway run will conclude on Jan. 8, 2023, Phelan will continue in her role when the production tours across the country beginning in February. She joins that previously announced cast, which includes Arcelus as the Baker, Stephanie J. Block as the Baker’s Wife (also Arcelus’ real-life wife), Montego Glover as the Witch and Gavin Creel as the Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince.
The current Broadway company of “Into the Woods” includes Block as the Baker’s Wife, Joaquina Kalukango as the Witch, Creel as the Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince, Joshua Henry as Rapunzel’s Prince, Katy Geraghty as Little Red Ridinghood, Jim Stanek as the Steward, Ann Harada as Jack’s Mother, Cole Thompson as Jack and Alysia Velez as Rapunzel.
Also continuing with the production are Ta’Nika Gibson, Annie Golden, Albert Guerzon, Brooke Ishibashi, Kennedy Kanagawa, David Patrick Kelly, Nancy Opel, Delphi Borich, Felicia Curry, Jason Forbach, Alex Joseph Grayson, Cameron Johnson, Paul Kreppel, Mary Kate Moore, Sam Simahk and Lucia Spina.
