“Schitt’s Creek” star Noah Reid will join the cast of “The Minutes” when the play returns to Broadway this spring.
Reid joins returning cast members Tracy Letts, who also penned the play, Ian Barford, Blair Brown, Cliff Chamberlain, K. Todd Freeman, Danny McCarthy, Jessie Mueller, Sally Murphy, Austin Pendleton and Jeff Still. He replaces Armie Hammer, who withdrew from the production, citing a focus on his health and family, last spring. The departure came as Hammer faced allegations of sexual assault.
This is the Broadway debut for Reid, who played the recurring role of Patrick on the television series “Schitt’s Creek.”
“The Minutes” had been in previews at the Cort Theatre, starting Feb. 25, 2020, until the pandemic forced the shutdown of the production on March 12. The production vacated the theater to allow for renovations on the building.
“The Minutes,” a Steppenwolf Theater Company production, is directed by Anna D. Shapiro. The play is scheduled to resume previews at Studio 54 on March 19 ahead of an opening on April 7.
The production is produced by Jeffrey Richards, Rebecca Gold, Carl Moellenberg, Spencer Ross and Louise Gund.
