A production timeline and theater have been set for the upcoming Main Stem staging of “The Picture of Dorian Gray.” The previously announced production, a transfer from London’s West End, will begin previews on March 10 and officially open on March 27 at the Music Box Theatre, the venue which in January will be vacated by “Suffs.” “The Picture of Dorian Gray” is scheduled to play a limited engagement through June 15.

As previously reported, “Succession” star Sarah Snook, who won the 2024 Olivier Award for her performance in “The Picture of Dorian Gray,” will make her Broadway debut playing 26 characters in this solo adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s only novel. The play centers on artist Basil Hallward, who paints the beautiful Dorian and becomes enthralled in a hedonistic lifestyle and obsession with beauty. Basil sells his soul to ensure that his portrait, rather than he, will age.

Adaptor Kip Williams will reprise his direction of the production from London, which will feature set/costume design by Marg Horwell, lighting design by Nick Schlieper, composition/sound design by Clemence Williams, video design by David Bergman and dramaturgy/creative associateship by Eryn Jean Norvill.

“The Picture of Dorian Gray” is being produced on Broadway by Michael Cassel, Adam Kenwright, Len Blavatnik, Danny Cohen, Daryl Roth, Amanda Lipitz and Henry Tisch. Foresight Theatrical will be the general manager with Aaron Lustbader as executive producer. Michael Casssel Group is the worldwide executive producer.
