‘Romeo + Juliet’ revival sets full cast and creative team

Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler are headlining the upcoming Broadway production.

Complete casting and creatives have been announced for the upcoming Broadway return of “Romeo + Juliet.” The previously announced revival, directed by Sam Gold, will begin previews on Sept. 26 and open on Oct. 24 for a 16-week run at Broadway’s Circle in the Square Theatre. Kit Connor and Rachel Zegler will star.

Joining the leading pair will be Tony Award nominee Gabby Beans as Mercutio/Friar, Tommy Dorfman as Nurse/Tybalt, Nihar Duvvuri as Balthazar, Sola Fadiran as Capulet/Lady Capulet, Daniel Bravo Hernández as Abraham, Taheen Modak as Benvolio, Jasai Chase Owens as Gregory and Gían Pérez as Samson/Paris/Peter, with understudies Missy Malek, Timothy Oh, Susannah Perkins and Daniel Velez. Casting is by Taylor Williams, CSA.

Newly announced creative team members include hair/wig/makeup designers Robert Pickens and Katie Gell, violence director Drew Leary, intimacy director Claire Warden, voice and text coach Gigi Buffington, dramaturgy and text consultants Michael Sexton and Ayanna Thompson, production manager Juniper Street Productions and general manager 101 Productions, Ltd.

As previously announced, “Romeo + Juliet” will feature original music by Jack Antonoff and movement by Sonya Tayeh, with scenic design by dots, costume design by Enver Chakartash, lighting design by Isabella Byrd, sound design by Cody Spencer and production stage management by Rachel Bauder.
