Should hell freeze over — and given global environmental trends, well, who knows? — it’s possible that “Frozen” will not be Disney’s next from-now-until-eternity Broadway blockbuster. But I expect the St. James Theatre will not be looking for a tenant anytime soon. For while this stage adaptation of the highest-grossing animated film in history is disappointingly workmanlike – well-performed and genially diverting are about the most robust compliments I can muster – the title’s status as a megabrand brings with it a guaranteed audience that should keep the show running for the foreseeable future, regardless of its merits, or rather despite its demerits.
Review: ‘Frozen’ freezes up on stage
