Red Concepción will make Broadway debut in 'Chicago'

The long-running musical revival continues at the Ambassador Theatre.

The Broadway revival of “Chicago” has announced its newest Amos Hart. Red Concepción will take over the featured role on Jan. 15 at the Ambassador Theatre. He will succeed James T. Lane, who will conclude his tenure in the role on Jan. 14.

Concepción appeared in the 2018 national tour of the “Miss Saigon” revival as the Engineer, a role he reprised throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland. “Chicago” will mark his Broadway debut.

In addition to Lane, the current “Chicago” cast includes Charlotte d’Amboise as Roxie Hart, Kimberly Marable as Velma Kelly, Max von Essen as Billy Flynn, Lili Thomas as Matron “Mama” Morton, Max Clayton as Fred Caseley and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine. As previously announced, “Vanderpump Rules” star Ariana Madix will take over the role of Roxie Hart on Jan. 29.

Rounding out the current company are David Bushman, Christine Cornish, Kristine Covillo, Jennifer Dunne, Jessica Ernest, Jeff Gorti, Arian Keddell, Mary Claire King, Marty Lawson, Joseph London, Barrett Martin, Sharon Moore, Drew Nellessen, Denny Paschall, Angel Reda, Jermaine R. Rembert and Michael Scirrotto. Casting is by ARC/Duncan Stewart and Patrick Maravilla.

The second-longest running production in Broadway history, the Tony Award-winning “Chicago” revival marked 27 years on the Main Stem on Nov. 14, 2023.
