Scott Rudin announced that he will return to producing theater on Broadway. The 18-time Tony Award-winning producer told the New York Times plans to bring four new productions to the Main Stem — three in the 2025-2026 season and one in the following.
This fall, Rudin will bring Samuel D. Hunter’s “Little Bear Ridge Road” and Bruce Norris’ “Cottonfield” to the Rialto. “Little Bear,” which would mark Hunter’s Broadway debut, premiered with Steppenwolf Theatre Company in the summer of 2024 under the direction of Tony winner Joe Mantello and starring Tony winner Laurie Metcalf. The Broadway mounting will reunite the pair, who have previously collaborated on six prior Main Stem productions. “Cottonfield” will be helmed by Tony nominee Robert O’Hara.
In the spring of 2026, Rudin plans to revive Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman,” starring Metcalf and fellow Tony winner Nathan Lane, also directed by Mantello. Additionally, the producer will present David Hare’s “Montauk,” starring Metcalf and directed by Mantello.
Rudin has also announced an Off-Broadway staging of Wallace Shawn’s “What We Did Before Our Moth Days,” directed by André Gregory. Rudin said he has multiple other shows in various stages of development, including musicals, according to the Times.
These productions will mark Rudin’s first new Broadway credits in five years.
