The Mischief Theatre Production of “Peter Pan Goes Wrong” is set to premiere on Broadway this spring.
Previews will begin on March 17, with an official opening night scheduled for April 19 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. The production will run for 16 and a half weeks.
Based on “Peter Pan” by J.M. Barrie, the comedy is co-written by Mischief company members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, who also co-wrote “The Play That Goes Wrong.”
“Peter Pan Goes Wrong” centers on the fictional Cornley Drama Society and their attempt to put on a production of “Peter Pan.”
The cast features Lewis, Sayer and Shields as well as Chris Leask, Ellie Morris, Charlie Russell, Greg Tannahill and Nancy Zamit.
Helmed by director Adam Meggido, the creative team includes scenic design by Simon Scullion, costume design by Roberto Surace, lighting design by Matt Haskins and sound design by Ella Wahlström as well as music by co-composers Richard Baker and Rob Falconer.
Featuring highly physical and slapstick comedy, the production premiered in London in 2013. After a U.K. tour in 2014, it transferred to the West End for holiday runs in 2015 and 2016. The play was adapted into a one-hour BBC special in 2016. In 2022, the production had its North American premiere at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Canada.
Founded in 2008, Mischief Theatre began as an improvised comedy group and made its first Broadway outing with “The Play That Goes Wrong.”
