‘Ohio State Murders’ to end Broadway run early

The Broadway premiere of "Ohio State Murders" will play its final performance on Jan. 15. The production was originally slated to run through Feb. 12. Previews began on Nov. 11 and the production officially opened on Dec. 8 at the newly renamed James Earl Jones Theatre.

The Broadway premiere of “Ohio State Murders” will play its final performance on Jan. 15. The production was originally slated to run through Feb. 12.

Previews began on Nov. 11 and the production officially opened on Dec. 8 at the newly renamed James Earl Jones Theatre. The drama will have played 26 preview and 44 regular performances as of Jan. 15.

“Ohio State Murders” stars Audra McDonald as Suzanne Alexander, along with Bryce Pinkham as Robert Hampshire and Lizan Mitchell as Mrs. Tyler, Miss Dawson and Aunt Lou. They are joined by Mister Fitzgerald, Abigail Stephenson, Brett Diggs, Brooke Gardner, Christian Pedersen and Gayle Samuels.

Directed by Kenny Leon, the production marked the Broadway debut of 91-year-old playwright Adrienne Kennedy. The suspense play centers around writer Suzanne Alexander who revisits her alma mater to discuss the violence in her works when a mystery begins to unravel.

“Ohio State Murders” is produced by Jeffrey Richards, Lincoln Center Theater, Rebecca Gold, Jayne Baron Sherman, Hunter Arnold, Irene Gandy, Kevin Ryan/Lisa Alexander Taylor, Marc David Levine, Concord Theatricals, The Nederlander Organization and The Shubert Organization.
