Nkeki Obi-Melekwe will take over the title role of “Tina” full-time on Nov. 2. Adrienne Warren, who was previously announced to be returning to the musical for a limited engagement beginning Oct. 8, will play her final performance on Sunday, October 31. Warren is nominated for a Tony Award for her portrayal.
Obi-Melekwe has played Tina in the West End production, and is also an original Broadway cast member who plays Tina at certain performances.
“Tina” is currently scheduled to resume performances at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on Oct. 8. The returning cast, including Daniel J. Watts, had previously been announced.
