“Aladdin” will welcome a handful of incoming principal cast members. Nathan Levy, Colt Prattes and Michael Schimmele will step into the roles of Omar, Kassim and Babkak, respectively, on Aug. 27 at the New Amsterdam Theatre. They will succeed outgoing actors Brad Weinstock, Milo Alosi and Zach Bencal, respectively, who will play their final performance on Aug. 25. Additionally, Marcus M. Martin will also join the long-running musical on Aug. 27 as standby for the roles of Genie and Babkak. Martin will replace current Genie/Babkak standby Jeremy Gaston, who will also exit the production on Aug. 25.

Levy and Prattes played their respective roles in the national tour of “Aladdin.” On the Main Stem, Levy has appeared as Clumsy in “Once Upon a One More Time” and as an understudy in “Dear Evan Hansen.” Prattes’ Broadway credits include replacing in both the 2009 revival of “West Side Story” and the 2011 revival of “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”

“Aladdin” will mark the Broadway debut of both Schimmele and Martin. Schimmele appeared in the Paper Mill Playhouse productions of “Sister Act” and “Rent,” while Martin played the Genie in “Aladdin” on the road.

This foursome will join a current principal cast that includes Adi Roy as Aladdin, Michael James Scott as Genie, Sonya Balsara as Jasmine, Dennis Stowe as Jafar, JC Montgomery as Sultan and Don Darryl Rivera as Iago.

Featuring a Tony Award-nominated score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice and a Tony-nominated book by Chad Beguelin, “Aladdin” is based on the 1992 animated Disney film of the same name. Casey Nicholaw directs and choreographs. The production’s ten-year Broadway anniversary was celebrated on March 20 with the addition of a giant Genie lamp atop the marquee of the New Amsterdam.

“Aladdin” is produced by Disney Theatrical Group, under the direction of Andrew Flatt, Anne Quart and Thomas Schumacher.
