Music Theatre International has acquired the licensing rights to “The Band’s Visit.”
The musical opened on at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on Broadway on Nov. 9, 2017, after an Off-Broadway run at the Atlantic Theater Company. “The Band’s Visit,” which is directed by David Cromer, with music and lyrics by David Yazbek and a book by Itamar Moses, has received 11 Tony Award nominations.
Last week, MTI announced that it had acquired the rights to “Groundhog Day.”
Orin Wolf is the lead producer on “The Band’s Visit.”
