Music Theatre International has acquired the worldwide licensing rights to “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.”
The musical opened on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Jan. 12, 2014. “Beautiful” also has a running West End production, which opened in February 2015, and a U.S. tour, which also began in 2015.
“Beautiful,” which features a book by Douglas McGrath and songs from King’s catalog as well as by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, was produced on Broadway by Paul Blake, Sony/ATV Music Publishing and Jeffrey A. Sine.
