Additional casting has been revealed for the upcoming Broadway bow of “Just in Time.” The previously announced Bobby Darin bio-musical will begin previews on March 28, 2025 and open on April 23 at the Circle in the Square Theatre. Alex Timbers will direct the musical which features a book by Warren Leight and Isaac Oliver set to songs made popular by Darin, who will be played by Jonathan Groff.
New to the company are Tony Award winner Michele Pawk, as well as Joe Barbara, Christine Cornish, John Treacy Egan, Julia Grondin, Tari Kelly, Matt Magnusson, Khori Michelle Petinaud, Larkin Reilly, Lance Roberts, Caesar Samayoa and Valeria Yamin.
Pawk won a Tony for her featured turn in 2002’s “Hollywood Arms.” She most recently appeared on the Main Stem as Madame Morrible in “Wicked.”
Barbara has appeared in the Broadway and touring companies of both “A Bronx Tale The Musical” and “Grease,” while Cornish made her Broadway debut in the 2016 revival of “Cats” and most recently replaced in “Chicago.”
“Just in Time” will mark the ninth Broadway credit for Egan, who is currently featured as Colonel Mustard in the national tour of “Clue.”
Having recently appeared in the national tour of “Funny Girl,” Grondin will make her Broadway debut in “Just in Time.”
Kelly first appeared on the Main Stem in 1994’s “Show Boat” and most recently performed in 2022’s “Mr. Saturday Night.”
“Just in Time” will mark the second appearance in a new musical in the 2024-2025 season for Magnusson, who is currently an ensemblist in “A Wonderful World.”
Petinaud’s appearance in “Just in Time” will mark the fourth consecutive season in which she has performed on Broadway; her recent credits include “Moulin Rouge!,” “Dancin’” and “Lempicka.”
Reilly made her Broadway debut in “Bad Cinderella” and appeared in the national tour of “Beetlejuice.”
Roberts’ recent Broadway credits include “I Need That” and “The Music Man.”
Samayoa was featured in the original cast of “Come From Away” and “How to Dance in Ohio,” while Yamin most recently served as a swing in “Moulin Rouge!”
In addition to the casting news, “Just in Time” has released three tracks featuring Groff performing songs frequently performed by the real-life Darin: “Beyond the Sea,” “Dream Lover” and “Just in Time.”
Additional casting for the musical, by Jim Carnahan and Jason Thinger, as well as the production’s creative team, will be announced.
“Just in Time” is being produced by Tom Kirdahy, Robert Ahrens and John Frost.
