Matthew Broderick tested positive for COVID-19 just prior to the April 5 performance of “Plaza Suite,” producers announced Tuesday evening.
Michael McGrath will go on in Broderick’s role. Sarah Jessica Parker continues to test negative and will perform this evening, according to a statement from the production.
This development comes along with a slew of cancellations and COVID-19 case announcements from productions.
“Macbeth” has extended its hiatus by two days, now expecting to resume on April 11. The production announced last week that Daniel Craig and “a limited number” of other company members tested positive.
“A Strange Loop” delayed its first preview by a day after some company members tested positive.
Off-Broadway, the Public Theater canceled its Tuesday performance of “Suffs” after announcing that several company members, including composer, writer and star Shaina Taub, had contracted the coronavirus.
