Manhattan Theatre Club joins ‘Hills of California’ producing team

The Jez Butterworth play will open at the Broadhurst Theatre.

Nonprofit institution Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) will produce “The Hills of California” in association with lead producers Sonia Friedman Productions, No Guarantees Productions, Neal Street, Brian Spector and Sand & Snow Entertainment, with Stephanie P. McClelland. The new Jez Butterworth play, directed by Sam Mendes, will being performances on Sept. 11 ahead of an official opening of Sept. 29 at the Broadhurst Theatre.

With this partnership, tickets to “The Hills of California” will be available as part of the MTC subscription — as the third production in the 2024-2025 Broadway season.

Under the leadership of artistic director Lynne Meadow and executive director Chris Jennings, MTC produces new work on and Off-Broadway.
