The Wayne Agency (TWA) has newly franchised with Actors’ Equity Association (AEA). The talent agency will now be able to represent clients who belong to the union that represents over 50,000 professional stage actors. Cindi Wakefield will serve as director of the AEA division of TWA, while TWA founder and CEO Terrece Lynn Evans will oversee the new division.
The expansion into the theater industry will be a boon for the 15-year-old company, whose roster of clients include film and television actors, voiceover talent, social media influencers and literary talent.
“Live theater has a proven and historical place as a universal art that unites nations,” Evans said in a statement. “We are here to support this resilient industry and its incredible artists.”
“Equity’s agency franchising program is a crucial tool to protect performers seeking representation,” said AEA business representative Ryan Hanely in a statement, acknowledging the additional opportunities this will afford its members. “We are thrilled to welcome the Wayne Agency into its ranks.”
To become a legitimate franchise of AEA, an agency must submit an application to the union, as outlined here.
TWA plans to sign Equity member talent beginning in February. AEA members seeking representation can contact submissions@thewayneagency.com for additional information.
