Lauren Reid, chief operating officer of the John Gore Organization, has been elected as incoming chair of the Broadway League.
Reid will take over the position at the end of 2020, after current chair Thomas Schumacher, president of Disney Theatrical Productions, completes his three-year term.
In addition to her role at the John Gore Organization, Reid serves on the League’s membership, finance and biennial planning committees. She previously served as road vice-chair of the Broadway League and has advocated for greater security initiatives for touring productions. She also helped create the Rising Stars development program, in which young members of the industry are mentored by members of the greater Broadway industry.
“Lauren has been an active member of the Broadway League for many years helping to guide the industry to consecutive record-breaking seasons. Her extensive experience as a road presenter, producer, and marketer along with her love for Broadway give her a deep understanding of what audiences are looking for across the country and what’s next for live theatre,” Charlotte St. Martin, president of the Broadway League, said in the press release.
