The Donna Summer Musical has named its three Donnas.
LaChanze, Ariana DeBose and Storm Lever will reprise their roles as “Diva Donna,” “Disco Donna” and “Duckling Donna” in “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical.” The trio originated the roles in a developmental production at the La Jolla Playhouse in late 2017.
The musical will open at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on April 23, 2018. Preview performances begin March 28, 2018.
Des McAnuff is the director, with Sergio Trujillo as the choreographer. Tommy Mottola, and the Dodgers are producing the show.
Additional casting will be announced shortly, according to the press release.
Colman Domingo, Robert Cary and Des McAnuff are the book writers for the musical, which features songs by Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, Paul Jabara and more to be named.
