“King Kong” will open a production in Shanghai in 2021.
The musical will be presented in Shanghai by Broadway producers Carmen Pavlovic, Roy Furman and new partner, Harmonia Holdings, a presenter of Broadway musicals in China.
“International audiences have responded so enthusiastically to ‘King Kong’ on Broadway, and we feel the strength of the Chinese entertainment market makes China the perfect home as one of our first international destinations beyond Broadway,” Pavlovic and Furman said.
“King Kong” opened on Broadway on Nov. 8, 2018.
