Casting is finalized for the upcoming Broadway revival of “Elf.” The previously announced production, directed by Philip Wm. McKinley, will begin previews on Nov. 9 and will open on Nov. 17, for a limited engagement through Jan. 4, 2025 at the Marquis Theatre.
Newly announced principal cast members include Kayla Davion as Jovie, Tony Award nominee Michael Hayden as Walter Hobbs and Ashley Brown as Emily Hobbs.
Davion most recently appeared on Broadway as the alternate for the titular role in “Tina.” Her other credits include “King Kong” and “Waitress.”
Hayden received a Tony nomination for his featured turn in 2001’s “Judgment at Nuremberg.” He made his Broadway debut as Billy Bigelow in the 1994 revival of “Carousel” and has since appeared in “Cabaret,” “Enchanted April,” “Henry IV,” “Festen” and “All My Sons.”
“Elf” will mark Brown’s return to the Main Stem after having originated the title role in 2006’s “Mary Poppins,” a performance she reprised on the road. She also played Belle in “Beauty and the Beast” on Broadway and Mother Abbess in a national tour of “The Sound of Music.”
Rounding out the “Elf” cast will be Kai Edgar as Michael, Jennifer Sánchez as Deb, Kalen Allen as the store manager and Michael Deaner as Little Boy.
The “Elf” ensemble will include Corinne Broadbent, Demarius Copes, Cameron Anika Hill, David Paul Kidder, Michael Milkanin, Sydni Moon, Clifton Samuels, J Savage, Bronwyn Tarboton, Rodney Thompson, Halli Tolland and Peli Naomi Woods. Rounding out the company are swings Maria Briggs, Lizz Picini, Austin Schulte and Asten Stewart.
They will appear alongside the previously announced Grey Henson as Buddy the Elf and Sean Astin as Santa. Casting is by Rachel Hoffman and the Telsey Office.
Also newly announced on the production’s design team is Peter Fitzgerald, who joins the previously announced Gareth Owen as co-sound designer.
“Elf” is being produced by Temple Live Entertainment North America and Crossroads Live North America.
