Theater journalist and critic Jeremy Gerard no longer works at Deadline.
Deadline did not extend Gerard’s contract, Gerard wrote in an email that he shared with Broadway News. His last day was Monday.
Gerard worked as executive editor and chief theater columnist at Deadline from April 2014 to 2016. After that, he continued to write for the site as a contract writer, according to his LinkedIn page.
He previously worked as a culture news editor and chief critic at Bloomberg, and held positions at New York Magazine, Variety and The New York Times.
In the email, Gerard wrote that he had a “great run” at Deadline and that he is working on a biography of Frank Langella called “Uncommon Promise,” a title which comes from a quote about Langella in his first New York Times review.
Broadway News has reached out to Deadline for comment.
